10 reasons NOT to book a life coaching session with me
1. You want someone to tell you what to do – A big part of life coaching is about helping you figure out what the best next step is for you. I don’t tell you what to do.
2. You want someone to hold you accountable – As your Coach, I want you to be accountable to yourself. Part of creating lasting change in your life is making sure that you are doing it for yourself, because you want to, not because someone else wants you to or, someone else is making you change. If you’re not comfortable being accountable to yourself we can explore that together to help set you up for success.
3. You want to work with someone more formal – I’m pretty informal. I take what I do seriously but I don’t take myself too seriously. I may show up on screen in a big hoodie or a muscle t-shirt, my hair may be a touch askew (it’s a curly hair thing!) I may also occasionally swear.
4. You don’t feel ready yet – Come to coaching when you’re ready.
5. You want someone who knows exactly what you’re going through – The only person who knows exactly what you are going through is you. On the off chance that I have been through the same thing I probably won’t tell you as coaching is about you, not me. Remember, it’s not about me telling you what to do, it’s about me supporting and helping you as you figure out what’s right for you.
6. You want to work with someone in person – I currently work online via zoom. On the plus side, that means I can work with you wherever you are in the world! It also means that you can turn up to our session in your PJ’s if you like.
If you’re running an event / retreat / workshop in Australia and would like to organise an in-person session for your community, drop me an email and lets chat about it.
7. You want a Life Coach who will reply to your emails immediately – While I check my email every day, it usually takes me a few days to respond.
8. If analogies or metaphors aren’t helpful to your understanding – I have a tendency to use these a fair bit as they are part of how I make sense of the world.
9. You are looking for a mental health practitioner – I’m not a mental health practitioner. I’ve done a short course to learn more about a trauma-informed approach but this does not make me a mental health practitioner.
10. You are allergic to Star Wars references – There’s not a lot in my 1:1 sessions but they do creep up occasionally.
BUT,
If you ARE looking for someone to help you gently unpack things and help you figure out what you want from your life, without telling you what you “should do”, I’m your woman.
If you want someone talk about what it is you deeply desire for your life, with no judgement, I’m your woman.
If you’re looking for someone who will hold, and deeply respect, the space for your coaching session and still find room for lightheartedness, I’m your woman.
If you’re looking for someone who believes that there’s no “right way” to do life, I’m your woman.
If you’re looking for someone who will give you a high five across the zoom screen to celebrate with you, then (you guessed it…) I’m your woman.
